Aitoolnavio is a catalogue of AI tools you can actually navigate — organised by what the tools do, ranked by measurements we publish the method for, and honest about which placements were paid for.
Why we exist
The problem is not finding AI tools. It is trusting the list.
There is no shortage of “best AI tools” pages. What most of them will not tell you is how the order was decided — which entries were paid for, what the scores were built from, or whether anyone checked that the tools still exist. Those lists are cheap to make and easy to sell.
We took the opposite position: publish the method. Our ranking rules are written down in the help centre, in order, with the reasoning for each one — including the keys we removed and why. Paid placements carry a label everywhere they appear. Where a number is missing, we say it is missing rather than filling it with a zero.
You should be able to disagree with how we rank things. That is only possible if you can see how we rank things.
How it works
From a tool nobody has heard of to a listing you can judge
A tool gets listed
Most listings start with us finding the tool. Anyone who owns one can also submit it: paste the address and the listing is drafted from the tool's own public pages — name, category, pricing, description — and the owner corrects every field before paying. It publishes as soon as payment is confirmed, so what goes live is what they signed off.
We measure what can be measured
Each listing carries a Popularity Score out of 100, built from several independent signals rather than one number anyone can inflate. Where we have not measured something, it counts as unmeasured — not as a zero that quietly ranks the tool last.
Members review it
Signed-in members rate five things separately — functionality and fit, ease of use, cost and value, integration and compatibility, reliability and support — and the overall score is worked out from those. Reviews are published after moderation, and one vote per member is final.
You compare and decide
Put tools side by side on a single screen with the rows lined up: pricing, traffic, popularity, categories, features, pros and cons. The point is to make the differences legible, not to pick a winner for you.
What the labels mean
Two badges, and neither one is a review
The words that most often get stretched on directory sites. Here is exactly what ours are worth.
Sponsored
A paid placement, and always labelled as one. Sponsored listings lead the page they are on and have their own section on the home page. They are not mixed in unmarked, and paying does not change a tool's score or its reviews.
Verified
The listing details have been confirmed with the people who operate the tool — not a quality badge, and not an endorsement. As of September 2026 being verified no longer lifts a tool in the popular order, because a confirmed listing is not the same thing as a popular one.
How tools are ordered
The order is a cascade, not a score
Every “most popular” list on the site — the home page grid, every category, the Top 100 — works down the same keys, and each one only decides the order when everything above it has tied: sponsored placement first, then the Popularity Score, then monthly visits, then member upvotes, then the review score. A final alphabetical step exists purely so two identical tools do not swap places between page loads.
New AI Tools answers a different question, so it is ordered differently: by the day each tool was listed here, newest first, with verified listings leading. And Free AI Tools means free outright — freemium plans and free trials do not qualify, however generous they are.
