Verifying your domain
Prove you control your tool’s website with a meta tag or an uploaded file. Needed for claiming and for analytics.
Some owner features change or reveal things about a website, so we first ask you to prove it is yours. You will be asked to verify when you:
- claim a listing
- open your listing analytics
Each one shows its own code, so follow the instructions on the page you are on.
Option 1 — HTML meta tag (recommended)
Copy the tag shown and paste it inside the <head> of your homepage, then publish your site and press Verify. Most website builders have a field for “custom code in the head”.
Option 2 — HTML file
Download the file shown and upload it to the root of your website, so it opens at yourdomain.com/<filename>.html. Keep the filename exactly as it is.
If it does not verify
- Check the tag or file is on the same domain as the listing’s website
- Clear any site cache or CDN so the change is visible to visitors
- Make sure the homepage is reachable without a login
