Alternatives and “vs” comparisons

Every tool page suggests tools that do the same job, grouped by what you would be replacing it for.

Near the bottom of every tool page are two sections built to answer “what else could I use?”

Best alternatives

Best <tool> Alternatives lists tools that do the same job, matched on what each tool actually does — its features — not just the category it is filed under. Where a tool does several jobs, the alternatives are grouped by job, and each group shows which of the tool’s features it matches, so you can see why a tool was suggested.

Within each group, better-known tools come first. A tool that simply bundles other companies’ AI models can still appear, but it will not lead a group.

“Compared” cards

The <tool> compared section pairs the tool with its four closest alternatives. Each card opens a side-by-side comparison of the two — see Comparing tools side by side.

Alternatives pages

Popular tools also have their own page at Alternatives, with the full list in one place. The tool page links to it under the alternatives section when one exists.
