Ticking it keeps you signed in for seven days. Leaving it unticked signs you out when you close the browser. On a shared or public computer, leave it unticked.

Some pages — submitting a tool, your dashboard, writing a review — need an account. If you land on the sign-in page from one of those, you are returned to where you were once you are in.
